Brooklyn's Second Half Surge Falls Short at York

Jamaica, NY----The Brooklyn College men's basketball team dropped an 88-70 decision in conference play at York College on Friday.  BC falls to 3-14 overall 1-6 in CUNYAC with the loss while the Cardinals move to 5-13 and 4-3 respectively.  Next Up: Brooklyn will look to bounce back on Tuesday at home in their second matchup of the season against Medgar Evers in conference play at 7:15pm.  

The Rundown
  • Trailing by as many as 24 points early in the second half, Brooklyn went on an 11-0 run to cut York's lead to 55-47 following a made three buried by sophomore guard, David McFadden with 10:09 left to play.  However, the home team weathered the storm and was able to kick their lead back up to 22 with 1:24 to go in the contest.  
  • With the score knotted at 14-14 with 9:48 left in the first half, York took the lead for good beginning with a 9-0 run and eventually grabbed a 40-23 halftime advantage.  
  • York outscored Brooklyn 23-8 in second chance points while outrebounding them, 19-11 on the offensive boards.  
Leading the Bulldogs
  • Senior forward, Elisha Park, scored a game-high 23 points and grabbed 6 boards.  He shot 4-7 from behnd the arc on the evening.  
  • McFadden added 11 points, grabbed 8 rebounds, and dished out 4 assists.  
  • Junior guard, Serge Thraysbule, chipped in 10 points and grabbed 4 rebounds.  
Leading York 
  • Terrell Fullerton scored a team-high 21 points.  
  • Olawale Kila had the game's lone double-double finishing with 15 points and 19 rebounds.
