Box Score Brooklyn, NY---Earning their first conference win of the season, the Brooklyn College men's basketball team defeated Medgar Evers, 69-56, on the road on Friday. BC moves to 3-10 overall and 1-2 in CUNYAC with the Battle of Bedford Avenue victory while MEC drops to 3-9 overall and 0-3 in conference play. Next Up: Brooklyn will host Baruch in a CUNYAC tilt on January 11 at the West Quad Center at 7:15 pm.
The Rundown
- Four Bulldogs reached double-figures in scoring on the evening.
- Trailing the Cougars 18-13 with 7:27 to go in the first half, the Bulldogs regained momentum and the lead thanks to a 14-0 run that put them up 27-18 at the 1:51 mark. Brooklyn would head into halftime with a 27-21 advantage.
- A made three buried by BC guard, Franz Depra, with a little over 16 minutes left to play gave Brooklyn their largest lead of the game, 40-26. However, the home team responded, cutting the BC lead down to a point with 5:22 remaining, but the Bulldogs would never relinquish the advantage. Brooklyn guard, Kayin Olajide went on a 6-0 run of his own in the next minute, giving BC a 61-54 lead with 4:14 to go.
