RANDALL'S ISLAND, New York --- Coming into Saturday's conference game, the Brooklyn College men's soccer team was keeping an even game, and even outshooting Baruch College eight to five. A late penalty awarded to Baruch would break the tie, and the Bearcats would keep the lead throughout the game and never look back despite the Bulldogs' attempts to close the gap, ending in a 3-2 loss. The Brooklyn College Bulldogs drop to 1-7-0 overall and 1-3 in conference play, while the Baruch College Bearcats move to 5-4-0 overall and remain undefeated in CUNYAC play with a 4-0-0 record.

How It Happened:

• The Bulldogs would keep things even up until a late foul inside the box led to a penalty kick goal from Ammar Ahmedshaker at the 44'.
• Early in the second half, Rayan Vukovic would tie the game up at 1-1 thanks to an assist from George Koufos at 50'.
• The Bearcats would retake the lead as Ammar Ahmedshaker would assist Arman Celebi in 68'.
• Baruch's Nasr Mohammed would have practically sealed it due to a collaborative effort from Arman Celebi and Jonah Corney for the 3-1 lead at 77'.
• Brooklyn's Danny Torrentes would decrease the deficit late into the second half off an assist from Christopher Renna in 87'.

 

For the Bulldogs:

• Freshman midfielder, George Koufos, would get his 4th assist of the season, leading all Bulldogs in that category
• Freshman forward, Rayan Vukovic, recorded his 3rd goal of the season, tying Bradlej Cupi in that statistical category
• Goalkeeper, Carl-Henry Obessiant, made his first appearance and first start of the season recording 6 saves in the process
