Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College Women's Basketball Team started conference play Friday evening by knocking off visiting Johy Jay, 74-60, in what was a rematch of the last two CUNYAC Finals. The win improves the Bulldogs to 1-0, and is the team's 47th consecutive victory over CUNYAC competition.
How it Happened:
- After a back and forth first quarter, Brooklyn was able to close out the period with an 18-17 lead, on a bucket by Ayomide Adeoye as time expired.
- For the next 2 1/2 quarters, the Bulldogs outscored the Bloodhounds, 49-26, taking a commanding 24 point advantage with 6:53 to play.
- Brooklyn out-rebounded John Jay 50-40, and recorded 17 steals to only 8 for the visitors.
For the Bulldogs:
- Alina Estrella led all scorers with 21 points and nearly reached a triple-double with 8 rebounds and 7 assists.
- Ericka James, who was honored pregame for scoring 1,000 career points, scored 17.
- Sarah James, notched a double-double of 11 points and 12 rebounds, while also nabbing 5 steals.

The Bulldogs will host non-conference opponent, Penn-State Abington on Wednesday, December 6th. Tip-off will be 6 pm at the West Quad Center.
