Late Ramos Goal Helps Brooklyn Tie St. Joseph's Brooklyn, 1-1

Brooklyn, NY-----Trailing 1-0 late into the second half, the Brooklyn College women's soccer team found the equalizer in the 83rd minute to pull out a 1-1 draw with St. Joseph's Brooklyn in non-conference play at home on Saturday.  BC moves to 1-3-2 with the tie while the Bears go to 2-1-1.

  • The Bulldogs remain home on Monday as they host Bard College at BC Field at 6pm. 
How It Happened
  • After a scoreless first half, the visitors took a 1-0 in the 70th minute on a goal scored by Ashley Pintado on a through ball from Katherine Barrios. 
  • Brooklyn kept pressing and in the 83rd minute, sophomore forward, Oshen Henderson found junior midfielder, Flor Ramos, on a cross to punch it just past the goal line to tie the match. 
  • St. Joe's finished with a slight advantage, 7-6, in shots-on-goal for the match. 
  • In addition to the assist, Barrios finished with four shots including a pair that were saved for the Bears. 
For The Bulldogs
  • Ramos had four shots on goal for the match. 
  • Henderson had a pair of shots that were saved to go along with her assist. 
  • Junior goalie, Angelina Vasta, finished with six saves for the match.
