Brooklyn, NY---Despite battling until the last point, the Brooklyn College women's volleyball team lost a four-set thriller in their Home Opener on Thursday against St. Joseph's Long Island, 3-1 (25-14, 23-25, 25-12, 25-21). Brooklyn moves to 0-2 to start the season while the Golden Eagles won their season opener.

How It Happened
- Already leading 9-6 to start the match, the visitors really opened the set up with a four-score rally and kept a comfortable lead the rest of the way.
- Brooklyn bounced back in the second set. Trailing 9-8, BC went on a 5-0 run for a 13-9 advantage. St. Joseph's chipped away at the lead and the teams were eventually tied, 23-23. Brooklyn would tie the match after back-to-back kills put away by Sydney Gdanski and Ashley Fung, respectively.
- After St. Joe's cruised through the third set to take a 2-1 lead, the Bulldogs didn't go away easily, jumping out to a 3-0 lead to start the fourth. Brooklyn would go on to lead 19-15 down the stretch before the Golden Eagles went on a 7-0 run to secure the match.
- St. Joe's Jackie Wolf led the way with 20 kills and four service aces. Madison Gremli added 14 kills to go along with a pair of blocks.
For the Bulldogs
- Junior, Aleah Rafat, put away a team-high 11 kills in her first match of the season. Fung and Gdanski added five kills each.
- Sophomore, Ruti joshi, came up with a team-high 18 digs to go along with a pair of service aces.
