Brooklyn Rolls to Second Straight CUNYAC Win at Home Over Hunter

Brooklyn, NY----Rolling to their second straight win at home, the Brooklyn College women's basketball team picked up a key 75-56 CUNYAC win over Hunter College on Wednesday.  BC improves to 8-6 overall and 3-1 in conference play while Hunter drops to 5-10 and 1-3 respectively.

  • BC looks for their third straight win in conference play at York College on Friday at 5pm. 
How It Happened
  • Brooklyn led the entire way, jumping out to a 7-0 lead to start the contest.   Ericka James capped the run with one of her seven three-pointers on the evening. 
  • Hunter would cut the lead to as few as three points with 6:15 to go in the first quarter before Brooklyn kicked the lead up to 12 thanks to a 9-0 run sparked by an Aleah Rafat made jumper. 
  • The Bulldogs really opened up the game in the second quarter beginning with a 16-0 run to grab a 38-14 lead with 4:17 to go in the first half. 
  • BC extended their lead to as many as 30 points in the third quarter.  Hunter chipped away in the fourth quarter, but wouldn't get any closer than 14 points. 
  • Brooklyn shot 42.9% from the field while holding the Hawks to 33.3%. 
  • Hunter's Alexa Charles scored a team-high 23 points. 
For the Bulldogs
  • Ericka James finished with a game-high 27 points, grabbed six rebounds, and came up with five steals. 
  • Sarah James added 11 points, grabbed eight boards, and dished out nine assists. 
  • Sophomore guard, Anna Kitch, chipped in nine points and grabbed eight rebounds.
