BROOKLYN, New York ---- Making big play after big play down the stretch, the Brooklyn College men's basketball team got themselves back in the win column with a conference victory over Hunter College, 60-54. The both teams move to 2-2 in conference play. The Hawks drop to 5-10 overall, while the Bulldogs improve to 2-13.

How It Happened:

Brooklyn jumped to an early 9-0 lead in the first three minutes of the game, going up by as many as ten points in the first five minutes of play.

With 9:10 to go in the first half, the Bulldogs were up 20-12 before the Hawks would rally back on an 8-0 run to tie it at 20-20 with 5:31 to go.

After being down 29-25 at the half, Hunter would go on a 5-0 run in the first two minutes of the second half to take their first lead of the game at 30-29.

The Bulldogs would retake the lead 36-32 with 16:08 left in the game, but a 9-0 run by the Hawks saw that lead disappear to 41-36 with 12:37 to go, a pattern that would continue for a good chunk of the game.

The Hawks would go up by as many as seven in the second half, taking a 48-41 lead with 8:48 to go, but the Bulldogs would go on a 10-0 run, the best scoring run in the game, to retake the lead.

Tied 52-52 with 3:03 left to play, Brooklyn's Stephon McGill would take possession of a loose ball by Hunter's Jack Meyers that would lead to a go-ahead, fastbreak layup with 2:33 left to go up 54-52.

Hunter's Corey Jones Jr would attempt to tie the game with about two minutes left in the game, and despite Luka Jakic recovering the offensive rebound, the quick hands of Brooklyn's Aaron Davis would recover the ball, leading a frustrated Jakic to foul him with 1:59 to go.

A free throw by Hunter's Kareem McDonald would cut it to three, but Stephon McGill would score back-to-back layups to seal the game at 60-54.

The Bulldogs bench was outscored 16-5, but three starters combined for 52 points in this game.
