BC Women's Soccer Routs Medgar Evers for First CUNYAC Win

Bulldogs Beat Cougars in Brooklyn Derby, Win Second Game on the Road

JAMAICA, New York ------- Coming into Saturday afternoon's conference matchup, the Brooklyn College women's soccer team looked to gain their first conference victory of the season in a pivotal Brooklyn Derby game with the Medgar Evers Cougars. Even with the stage set in Queens, it was the Bulldogs who would come out on top, routing the Cougars 12-0 on the road.

The Brooklyn College Bulldogs (4-7-3, 1-1-1 CUNYAC) get an important conference victory that helps establish them in the hunt for seeding, while the Medgar Evers College Cougars (0-7, 0-4 CUNYAC) continue to seek their first victory of the season.

How It Happened

Sage Bernstein and Chelsea Gonzalez would start the scoring early, combining for the first goal of the game and Bernstein's first of the season to take a 1-0 lead and never look back in 5'.

Gonzalez would have herself a performance in the first half, assisting both Audrey Jane Young in 9' and Gianna DiPronio in 21', before scoring 2 goals of her own in 26' and 28' to up the score 6-0.

Dionisia Payamps would score her 6th goal of the season in 19' during that span.

Imani Dickens would put away the last goal of the half on 32' off an assist from Bernstein to make it 7-0.

With the score at 9-0, Julissa Chino would score an unassisted goal to help the Bulldogs reach double digits for the second time this season at 10-0 in 53'.

In only 35 minutes of playing time, Shakhzoda Isomidinova would take full advantage of it to score 2 more goals for the Bulldogs in 55' and 60' to finish the game 12-0.
