How It Happened
The Bulldogs would come right out of the gate on the attack, as a shot by
Mohammed Alghanimi would force the Cougars' goalie to be on alert early in 3'.
The Cougars looked to get on the scoreboard first with a shot that went high in 53', but it was the Bulldogs that would make the best of their opportunity. As the Bulldogs were awarded a corner kick,
George Koufos would take the ball as standard procedure. The ball would reach the box area of the Cougars, placed perfectly for
Adam Moharam to blast it home off the corner kick and into the net for the 1-0 in 55'.
The Bulldogs rode their momentum during this span, and no one more than
Mohammed Alghanimi. Third time would be the charm because after two previous shots on-goal being turned away, he would eventually put it through for a BC insurance goal in 61' after an assist from Moharam.
For the Bulldogs
- Goalies, Hady Bakry and Brian Perea, would combine for a clean sheet with 4 and 2 saves respectively. Bakry played the first half while Perea finished the job in the final 45 minutes of play.
- Mohammed Alghanimi would score 1 goal after taking 4 shots, all on target.
- Adam Moharam would have an all-around game, scoring 1 goal with 1 assist on a pair of shots taken.
- Benedick Augustin returned with 5 shots off of the bench, 3 of them on target, including a header that was turned away.
