BC Women's Soccer Finishes Regular Season With Convincing Victory Over Medgar Evers

Bulldogs Build Momentum Against Cougars At Home

BROOKLYN, New York ------ Coming into the regular season finale, the Brooklyn College women's soccer team looked to build momentum and go into the postseason with a victory against their crosstown rivals in the Medgar Evers College Cougars. They would take home a convincing victory, which included a 9-0 score at halftime, over Medgar Evers College in non-conference action by a score of 12-0.

The Brooklyn College Bulldogs (6-8-3) finish in strong and convincing fashion, while the Medgar Evers College Cougars (0-9-0) continue to wrap up the regular season trying to find their first overall victory.

How It Happened

Less than a minute into the game, Brooklyn would get right on the board as a left side attack from Juliana Hernandez would help Zasu Alvarez put it away 23 seconds into the game to make it 1-0.

Hernandez herself would score from the left side as Alvarez would find Gianna DiPronio who would kick a through pass for the 2-0 score in 2'.

The Bulldogs would then try to attack from the right side with Sage Bernstein, shifting their attack to the right by going to DiPronio once again who would allow Alvarez to score her second goal in 8' to make it 3-0.

Brooklyn would then proceed to attack through the middle with Julissa Chino who would find Bernstein for a through pass to the left to find Jaymi Quintuna for the 4-0 score in 13'.

Chelsea Gonzalez would blast it from the right side courtesy of Gianna DiPronio and Zasu Alvarez for the 5-0 in 22'.

Less then two minutes later, Hernandez would find DiPronio for a rocket of a shot that would go into the top right corner to make it 6-0 in 24'. Juliana Hernandez would have a very involved game with 1 goal, 2 assists on 3 shots with 2 on target.

Quintuna would find DiPronio, moving the ball from left to right to a cutting Bernstein who would put it away into the bottom right corner for the 7-0 in 27'. Jaymi Quintuna would attain 1 goal, 2 assists on 4 shots, 2 on goal for the game.

Gonzalez would tag on another score in 29' off a direct pass from DiPronio after Imani Dickens would kick a cross to find her in 35' to make it 8-0.

Dickens would score her first of the game as Chino would find Bernstein who would quickly put the ball in play from a right side cross for the 9-0 in 35'.

Chino would finally score a goal of her own after providing two shots to the woodwork in previous games, 2 assists, 7 shots with 3 on target, to make it 10-0 in 51'.

DiPronio would intercept a low punt from the goalie before blasting it over the goalie through the top center to make it 11-0 in 61'.

Alvarez would once again carry on the attack, only this time on the right side to find Elizabeth DeGannes, who would deliver a long through pass to Dickens on the left side to seal the game 12-0 in 64'. DeGannes would end the night with 1 assist after taking 6 shots with 5 of them on target.
