Bulldogs Roll to Victory Over John Jay in CUNYAC Opener at Home

BROOKLYN, New York ------ On Tuesday, the Brooklyn College women's swimming and diving team defeated John Jay, 95-86, in their conference opener at the West Quad Pool.  BC improves to 3-3 with the win while the Bloodhounds drop to 1-4 overall and 0-1 in CUNYAC. 

Brooklyn would find themselves in a competitive 200 Yard Medley Relay to start off rge meet in the first event. After John Jay's second swimmer would take a slight lead with three-hundredths of a second, Anastasia Kutuzov would give Brooklyn a comfortable cushion by beating her opponent by 10 seconds to finish with a team overall of 2:19.63 in Event 1.

Erin Forrest would then proceed to help the Bulldogs increase their score by winning the 1000 Yard Freestyle with a time of 13:01.65, about 2 seconds above second place.

Kutuzov would then take Event 5 with a time of 2:26.22 in the 200 Yard Indidual Medley.

Forrest dominated the 100 Yard Freestyle in Event 8, winning it with a time of 1:01.69, over 22 seconds quicker than second place. She would also take first place in the 500 Yard Freestyle from Event 10 with a time of 6:36.11, about 44 seconds above the second place competitor to take it 95-86.

Next Up: Brooklyn looks to keep their momentum going this Friday in a non-conference dual meet at home against Purchase at 6pm.
