Brooklyn, NY---With the announcement of the 2024 CUNYAC Women's Tennis All-Stars announced on Monday, Brooklyn College sophomore,
Medina Kuc, received Second Team All-Star accolades. In addition, freshman,
Natalia Urbaez, was named to the conference's Sportsmanship Team. Kuc and Urbaez helped Brooklyn to the No. 3 seed and semifinal appearance in this season's CUNYAC Championship Tournament.
Playing the majority of the season at either the top two slots for Brooklyn this year, Kuc earned a hard-fought non-conference victory against Kean University in No. 2 singles in late October. She and doubles partner,
Sophia Kebadze, pulled out a tie-break victory, 8-7, at No. 1 doubles in conference play against York College on October 18.
In her first season with the Bulldogs, Urbaez saw action at the top three slots in singles and top-two in doubles in 13 matches played. BC Head Coach, David Wallis, would commend the freshman on her season saying, "Natalia is an excellent student-athlete. She has played many tough opponents at the top of our lineup, but she never complains. Just goes out and tries to win. She treats all her opponents with respect and fairness."
