Box Score Brooklyn, NY---In a rematch of the last three CUNYAC Championships, the Brooklyn College women's basketball team rolled to a 66-37 win over John Jay at home on Friday. Brooklyn improves to 4-3 overall in their first conference game of the season while the Bloodhounds drop to 2-6 and 0-1 respectively with the loss. Next Up: The Bulldogs return to non-conference action at home on Wednesday, December 11, against #1 NYU at 6pm.
How It Happened
- The Bulldogs came out on fire to start the contest, jumping out to 16-5 lead in the first five minutes of play that included five three-point makes. Brooklyn extended their lead to as many as 18 points twice in the opening quarter before the Bloodhounds closed the gap to 27-14 heading into the second quarter.
- John Jay carried their momentum from the end of the first quarter into the second beginning with a 7-0 run to cut the BC lead to 27-20 with 6:26 to go in the first half. However, the Bulldogs kicked their lead back up to double-digits after a 5-0 spurt capped with an Anna Kitch three-point make. The Bulldogs closed out the half on 5-0 run capped by a three buried by Cheyenne Castellano to give BC a 37-22 halftime advantage.
- Following a John Jay bucket to start the scoring in the second half, the Bulldogs blew the game wide open beginning with a 10-0 run before closing out the third quarter with a 58-31 lead. The ended their contest with the largest lead of the game.
- The Bulldogs knocked down 11 threes on the evening to the Bloodhounds' four. Brooklyn also outscored John Jay 28-9 in points off of turnovers.

- Kitch led a balanced BC scoring attack with 12 points. She grabbed 9 rebounds on the night.
- Senior guard, Alina Estrella, added 11 points to go along with 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals.
- Senior forward, Mary Dolgin, chipped in 9 points and blocked 3 shots.
