Saule Okeke-Ziburkus, has been named conference's Women's Volleyball Rookie of the Week while senior setter,
Amra Mulic, earned Honorable Mention accolades. Both helped Brooklyn to a 2-0 (1-0 CUNYAC) mark on the week.
The freshman outside hitter had a breakout week as she totaled 32 kills and 33 digs in nine sets played on the week. She put away a career-high 17 kills and came up with 23 digs in Brooklyn's 3-1 conference win over CCNY at home on Tuesday. She followed that up with 15 kills and 10 digs in the Bulldogs' 3-2 non-conference victory at St. Elizabeth on Thursday.
Mulic set for a career-high 36 assists, put away 7 kills, served up 5 aces, and came up with 18 digs in the Bulldogs' 3-1 conference victory over CCNY at home on Tuesday. In Thursday's 3-2 non-conference victory at St. Elizabeth, Mulic set for 26 assists, came up with 12 digs, and served up the match-winning ace.
The Bulldogs are back in action in CUNYAC play at John Jay on Thursday, 10/23, at 7pm.
