BROOKLYN, New York ------ Coming into the season opener at home, the Brooklyn College women's swimming and diving team would host the Mount Saint Mary College Knights. Though both sides would go back and forth, ultimately, the Bulldogs would come up just short on the score, losing the battle 92-84.
The Brooklyn College Bulldogs (0-1) showed promise despite coming up short, while the Mount Saint Mary College Knights (1-0) start off on the right foot to begin their season.
Elizabeth Bailey-Hamm would take first place in Event 9's 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:58.69, scoring 9 points in the process.
Magdalena Mackiewicz would score 149.05 in the 1-meter dive, gaining an extra 9 points to the overall score after Event 11.
Elizabeth Bailey-Hamm would also take first place with a time of 1:13.26 in Event 13, adding 9 points, but ultimately coming up short despite the positive result in the 100-yard butterfly.
Up next, the Brooklyn College women's swimming and diving team will look to bounce back, as they continue their opening homestand against the St. Joseph's University-Long Island Golden Eagles on Saturday, November 1st at 1:00pm.
