Flushing, NY----The Brooklyn College women's tennis team's season came to an end on Tuesday as the No. 3 seeded Bulldogs fell to No. 2 Baruch, 4-1, in the CUNYAC Championship Tournament Semifinals at the USTA National Tennis Center. Brooklyn closes out the season with a 6-8 overall record, doubling their win total from last year, while the Bearcats advance to the championship match on Thursday with an 8-5 record.
The Bearcats took a 1-0 lead by take No. 1 and No. 2 doubles to start the match. They would go on to lead, 3-0, after quick wins at No. 6 and No. 1 singles. Brooklyn senior,
Anabel Greenberg, helped cut the lead to 3-1 with a (6-3, 6-3) victory at No. 5 flight singles. However, Baruch would clinch the match at No. 3 singles.
Aniyah James was in a battle at No. 2 singles that went unfinished, (6-7, 0-3).
Joyce Benjamin lost the first set and had just won the second set at No. 4 singles just before the match was clinched.
