New York, NY---With seventeen seconds remaining in regulation and the score tied, 66-66, BC senior guard,
Stephon McGill, scored the go-ahead bucket, giving the Brooklyn College men's basketball team the lead for good and the 68-66 conference victory at CCNY on Tuesday. Playing for the No. 4 seed against the Beavers, Brooklyn will now host CCNY in the conference championship quarterfinals on Saturday at 3:15 pm at the West Quad Gymnasium. BC heads into the postseason with a 12-13 (7-7 CUNYAC) overall record while the Beavers drop to 10-10 (6-8 CUNYAC), snapping a three-game win-streak in the process.
How It Happened
- Prior to McGill's heroics, CCNY tied the game after making one of two free-throws with 42 seconds left in the second half.
- With the Bulldogs trailing, 65-64, Serge Thrasybule knocked down a jumper to give BC a one-point advantage with :54 left in regulation.
- Brooklyn came back from a 60-52 deficit with a little over seven minutes to go in the second half beginning with a 7-0 run capped by a three buried by senior guard, Malik Dale.
- McGill knocked down a key jumper to tie the contest, 63-63, with 2:35 left in regulation.
- A closely contested game throughout, freshman guard, Joe Charles, gave BC a 31-29 lead with a three-point make at the 1:42 mark in the first half. However, the Beavers tied the game with a make in the paint for a 31-31 halftime score.
- Brooklyn shot 8-14 as a team from behind the arc for the game while limiting the home team to just 3-12. The Bulldogs' bench outscored CCNY's 14-6.

- David McFadden led the way offensively, finishing with 17 points while shooting 3-6 from behind the arc.
- Dale added 15 points while shooting 3-5 from three-point land. He also came up with 3 steals.
- McGill finished with 11 points and 4 assists without a turnover.
