Brooklyn, NY----With the announcement of the 2024-25 CUNYAC Women's Basketball Conference All-Star selections on Thursday, Brooklyn College freshman guard,
Ameea Daniel, would be named the conference's Rookie of the Year, junior guard,
Anna Kitch, would garner First Team All-Star honors, graduate guard,
Alina Estrella, was received a Second Team All-Star nod, and senior forward,
Aleah Rafat, was selected for the conference's Sportsmanship Team. All four helped Brooklyn to a 16-11 overall mark, the No. 3 seed in the CUNYAC Championship tournament, and most recently, the program's tenth straight appearance in the conference championship game against Hunter College on Thursday, 2/27, at 6pm.
Ameea Daniel (Rookie of the Year)
Notables/Highlights
- Averaged 9.7 points and 6.7 rebounds per game. Ranked second on the team in steals with 47.
- Scored a season-high 22 points in a non-conference victory over Rowan on 11/22.
- Scored 19 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in a conference victory over Hunter on 2/4.
- Reached double-digit scoring in 9 of 18 games played.
- Named CUNYAC Rookie of the Week six times on the season.
Anna Kitch (First Team All-Star)
Notables/Highlights
- First conference all-star selection in just her second season with the Bulldogs.
- Averaged a near double-double on the season with 11.8 ppg and 9.5 rpg. Led the team in both categories.
- Led the team and conference in three-point makes per game (2.5).
- Scored a season-high 21 points at Whittier College on 12/30.
- Notched eight double-doubles in 24 games played.
Alina Estrella (Second Team All-Star)
Notables/Highlights
- Second straight season earning conference all-star honors.
- Ranked second on the team in scoring (11.2 ppg) and led the team in assists with 63 on the season.
- Scored a season-high 20 points at Farmingdale on 1/4.
- Reached double-figure scoring in 14 games.
