BC Men's Volleyball Victorious On Senior Day

Bulldogs Win Last Home Game of the Regular Season Against Cougars

BROOKLYN, New York ------ Coming into Senior Night, the Brooklyn College men's volleyball team would honor their seniors, Dion Csikortos, David Lema, Armand Kaloshi, and Kevin Seise, before crossing paths with their cross-borough opponents, the Medgar Evers College Cougars, in conference play. The Bulldogs would play their last regular season home game, attaining a much-desired result, defeating the Cougars in three sets [25-7, 25-6, 25-5] to send all family members and associates home happy. The Brooklyn College Bulldogs (11-14, 7-4 CUNYAC) attain an important conference win to increase their chances of hosting a CUNYAC Playoff game, while the Medgar Evers College Cougars (0-15, 0-12 CUNYAC) keep searching for their first overall win of the season.

How It Happened

Brooklyn would come out rolling in the first set, scoring six straight points right off the bat, including 3 aces from Jason Lin in a row and 2 kills from Seise, to make it 6-0. Their largest run of the set would not come until much later, when Brooklyn would score seven points in a row to make the score 23-6, eventually taking it 25-7.

Both sides would keep things interesting in the second set, as they would tie it twice at the beginning of the set and keeping it close for a good part of it. However, Brooklyn would finally create some distance with an impressive 16-0 run, featuring 7 aces from Aaron Siu and two kills from Kaloshi, to make it 24-5, eventually finishing the set off by a score of 25-6.

The Bulldogs would bring out a different lineup to close the game, going on two separate 8-0 runs to close out the final set in style 25-5, sending the families and friends of the honorees home satisfied.

For the Bulldogs

  • Kaloshi would lead the attack with 5 kills, 3 aces, and 2 digs.
  • Lema found his teammates with 15 assists, while adding 2 kills and 2 aces.
  • In his first start, Seise would contribute 3 kills, 1 ace and 1 dig.
