Brooklyn, NY----Announced by the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) on Monday, Brooklyn College forward,
Nikala Metreveli, was named the conference's Player of the Week and freshman forward,
Andrew Gavrilov, received an Honorable Mention with the release of this week's Men's Soccer Weekly Awards. The duo earned the honors for their efforts in a pair of non-conference matches played this week.
Helping Brooklyn to a 1-1 split on the week in non-conference play, Metreveli assisted on the Bulldogs' lone goal at Sarah Lawrence on Tuesday. He closed out the week with four points on a goal and two assists in Brooklyn's 3-0 win over SUNY Cobleskill in their Home Opener on Friday.
Named CUNYAC Rookie of the Week last week, Gavrilov continued a productive start to his collegiate career as he scored the Bulldogs' lone goal at Sarah Lawrence on Tuesday. He closed out the week with another goal on Friday against SUNY Cobleskill. The freshman forward has scored a goal in every match the Bulldogs have played so far this season.
The Bulldogs are back in action at home against St. Joe's Brooklyn on Wedenesday, 9/10, at 6pm.
