BC Men's Swimming and Diving Downed For First Time This Season Versus Baruch

Bulldogs Lose First Conference Meet To Bearcats

BROOKLYN, New York ------ Coming into their first swim meet of the new calendar year, after over a month of no activity, the Brooklyn College men's swimming and diving team would face off in conference action against the Baruch College Bearcats at home. Having come in riding a seven-meet winning streak, the Bulldogs looked to continue what was started at the beginning of their season. Unfortunately, Brooklyn College would be defeated for the first time this season by a score of 158-73.

The Brooklyn College Bulldogs (7-1, 2-1 CUNYAC) drop their first meet of the year, ending their undefeated streak and taking a crucial conference loss. Meanwhile the Baruch College Bearcats (6-1, 2-0 CUNYAC) remain undefeated in the conference after having won the last six meets in a row.

Michael Kravets would earn the first critical win in Event 6 with a time of 1:50.32 in the 200-yard freestyle.

Jayden Diaz would do well in the 1-meter dive, posting a score of 121.75 in Event 11.

Or Volpert would beat his opponent by one second, posting a time of 54.26 in Event 14's 100-yard butterfly.

Event 21 would go down to the wire, but Michael Kravets would ultimately get first place with a time of 5:15.42 in the 500-yard freestyle.

Jayden Diaz would pick up some more important points in Event 22's 3-meter dive, posting a score of 117.50 to take first place.

Up next, the Brooklyn College Bulldogs move the meet to the West Quad Pool for a home meeting on Saturday, January 14th at 1:00pm against the Bard College Raptors.
