Bulldogs Roll to Sixth Straight Win Over John Jay, Quezada Nets Season-High 26 Points

Brooklyn, NY----Led by senior forward Sheily Quezada's season-high 26 points and 12 rebounds, the Brooklyn College women's basketball team cruied to their sixth straight win over John Jay, 81-60, at home on Friday.  BC improves to 13-3 (6-0 CUNYAC) with the win while the Bloodhounds drop to 4-13 (2-4 CUNYAC).  Next Up: BC continues their conference slate at York on Wednesday, 1/21, at York College at 5pm.  

Brooklyn jumped out to a 10-4 lead to start the contest beginning with an Anna Kitch layup in the opening seconds of the first quarter.  Kitch finished with 10 rebounds for the game.  A Dior Dorsey layup gave Brooklyn their first double-digit of the game, 16-6, with 2:35 to go i the opening quarter.  

John Jay cut Brooklyn's lead to five points early in the second quarter before the Bulldogs responded with a 14-0 run including a three-pointer buried by Adunoluwa Akinduyi.  Brooklyn would hold on to a 40-25 halftime lead.  

BC pushed their lead up to as many as 23 points in the third quarter, 54-31, following a Quezada layup at the 5:18 mark.  Brooklyn would maintain a comfortable advantage from that point on.  

The Bloodhounds were paced by Alexis Jones' team-high 14 points off of the bench.  

The Bulldogs outscored the Blodhounds 54-22 in points in the paint on the evening.  

Quezada also blocked four shots to go along with her double-double on the evening.  Dorsey also reached a double-double, finishing with 17 points and 13 rebounds.  Akinduyi ended up with a career-high 15 points on 6-8 shooting from the floor in 20 minutes of action.
