Brooklyn Swimming & Diving Defeats Bard On Senior Day

Bulldogs Bounce Back Against Raptors

BROOKLYN, New York ------ Coming into Senior Day 2026, the Brooklyn College swimming and diving team would make the adjustment to host non-conference play against the Bard College Raptors. Prior to the start of the meet, Brooklyn College seniors Almina Tsedenova, Ciera Stenbar, Ayatallah Elkotby,  Zurab Chkhartisvili, and Christine Bailey, were honored by the head coach, Brian Jensen. Both the women and men would find a way to defeat their respective sides from Bard College by scores of 99-56 and 152-50 respectively.

The Brooklyn College Bulldogs from the women's side (3-8) snap a two meet losing streak, while the men's side (8-1) bounce back to get in the win column after losing their previous meet that broke their seven-meet winning streak. Meanwhile, the Bard College Raptors men (2-6) and women (1-7) both looked to snap a losing streak of their own on both sides.

The Bulldogs would get their first crucial head-to-head win in Event 6, as Michael Kravets would swim a time of 1:51.31 in the 200 yard freestyle, a little over seven seconds ahead of his closest opponent.

After losing their first face-to-face event, Elizabeth Bailey-Hamm would help give the women a needed nine points, finishing eight seconds ahead of her closest opponent by posting a time of exactly 27.00 in Event 7's 50 yard freestyle.

Or Volpert would take first place in Event 8, posting a time of 25.28 in the men's 50 yard freestyle, just four tenths of a second ahead of his teammate Ochoa, taking first and second respectively.

In Event 10, Andrew Woo would be the only swimmer to finish the 400 yard individual medley in under five minutes, posting a time of 4:52.24 in Event 10. A few events later in Event 16, he would post a time of 57.29 to take the 100 yard freestyle as well.

Andrew Woo would finish it off with a time of 2:26.78 in Event 24's 200 yard breaststroke.
