Brooklyn, NY----The Brooklyn College women's tennis team dropped their first conference loss of the season on Friday as the Bulldogs fell to Pratt, 7-0, at home. BC moves to 2-5 overall (1-1 CUNYAC) in defeat while the Cannoneers improve to 4-0 (2-0 CUNYAC) with the win. Next: Brooklyn will be right back at it on Saturday, 10/10, in non-conference action at home against Kean at 12pm.
Brooklyn's top doubles pairing of Medina Kuc and Alexis Goodman earned the Bulldogs' lone victory in doubles play, defeating Pratt's Pallavi Verghese and Judith Song, 6-1, at top-flight doubles.
Pratt captured the remaining two doubles matches, taking second doubles by a 6-1 score over Aniyah James and Amara Stewart and third doubles by the same margin against Amar Abdel Gaphar and Kristen Vega.
In singles competition, the Cannoneers swept all six matches to secure the team victory. Goodman competed at first singles against Verghese, while James faced Song at second singles. Stewart, Kuc, Tiffany Edwards, and Vega rounded out the Bulldogs' singles lineup at third through sixth positions, respectively.
Vega put together a competitive opening set at sixth singles, falling 6-4 to Quinn Steinman before dropping the second set, 6-1. James also battled in the second set at second singles before falling to Song, 6-1, 6-3.
