#2 Brooklyn Outlasted by #6 CCNY in Double Overtime in CUNYAC Tournament Semifinals, 76-72

Brooklyn, NY----In highly contested conference tournament semifinal, the No. 2 seeded Brooklyn College men's basketball team was outlasted in double overtime by No. 6 CCNY.  Brooklyn ends the season with an 11-15 overall record while the Beavers advance to the CUNYAC Championship against No. 1 Lehman on Thursday, 2/27, at Baruch College at 6:30 pm.  

How It Happened
  • With the Bulldogs grabbing a 69-68 lead with 2:23 to go in the second overtime, the Beavers would retake the lead for good beginning with a three-point make drained by Abdias Carcamo at the 1:06 mark.  Brooklyn cut the lead to as few as point on two separate occasions in the final minute of the second overtime, but was never able to retake the lead as CCNY sealed the contest from the free-throw line. 
  • Brooklyn opened the second overtime on a 6-0 run highlighted by a long three-point make drained by Thomas Hall just before the shot-clock expired.  The Bulldogs extended their lead to 63-56 with 1:38 left in the first overtime.  However the Beavers closed out the first overtime on a 7-0 run capped by the game-tying bucket with :04 to go to force a second overtime.  
  • BC led by as many as 13 points, 41-28, following a Joe Charles three-point make with 16:23 to go in regulation.  CCNY responded with a 10-0 run in the next three minutes of play to cut the home team's lead to three points.  The Beavers eventually grabbed a 51-49 advantage with 4:42 to go in regulation.  Charles would tie the game, 55-55, with :53 left in the second half and neither team would score from that point on in regulation.  
  • Brooklyn jumped out to a 9-2 lead to start the contest before maintaining a 31-24 halftime lead.
