Brooklyn, NY----The Brooklyn College men's volleyball team returned to the win column on Saturday as the Bulldogs defeated Penn State Schuylkill, 3-0 (25-10, 25-18, 27-25), before beating St. Elizabeth University, 3-0 (25-16, 25-14, 25-20) in a non-conference trimatch at the West Quad Center. In the neutral match, Penn State Schuylkill defeated St. Elizabeth, 3-2. BC improves to 6-4 overall with the non-conference victories. Next Up: Brooklyn remains home on Tuesday, March 3, as they return to conference play against Baruch College at 6pm.

Brooklyn would find themselves tied 2-2 with Schuykill early in the first set, but they would put together a run of five points, led by Matthew Kadatskiy, which would eventually prove to be enough to break away and maintain the lead. Despite Schuykill getting close with a one point deficit of being down 16-15, Brooklyn would pull away once again outscoring Schuykill 8-1, thanks to
Aaron Siu's two aces during the span, taking the set 24-16.
Aaron Siu would lead in receptions wih 8 digs to go along with 8 kills and 2 aces.
With the score tied at one early in the second set, the Bulldogs would string together seven straight points to take a commanding 8-1 lead. The Nittany Lions were not even given a chance to get back into the game, as the Bulldogs would put together a 5-0 run twice, including the one started by
Joaquin Calderon to end the set 25-10.

In the most competitive set of the bunch, Brooklyn and Schuykill would find themselves tied a total of sixteen times in this set alone. With Schuykill leading 25-24 on the verge of taking the third set,
Joel Hernandez would become heavily involved, first finding Siu to tie the set then getting a kill of his own before making the defining assist to take it 27-25.

Both sides would trade points for a while, and though the Bulldogs would pull away, neither they or the Eagles could not put together a longer run than three. However, towards the end of the set, with the score 21-16 in favor the Bulldogs, it would be our home team that would be the ones putting together four straight points through the setting by
Miguel Trejo to take the first set 25-16. As a setter,
Miguel Trejo would have 21 assists and 3 digs.
Brooklyn would strike first, but Saint Elizabeth would deliver their first early strikes to take an early 3-1 lead. However, Brooklyn would put together their longest run of the day with six straight points to retake a 7-3 lead sparked by Matthew Kadatskiy. Nobody would come close after that, and Brooklyn would eventually close the set by a score of 25-14. Matthew Kadatskiy would have 6 kills, 1 block assist, and 1 dig.
After a couple of tied scores, the Bulldogs would finally retain the lead after putting three straight points on the board to go up 12-10.
Lior Amromin would help extend the lead briefly and maintain the lead, eventually being a huge part of the reason set three went to the hosts once again by a score of 25-20.
