Brooklyn, NY----The Brooklyn College softball team bounced back in a big way at home on Wednesday after dropping their first game of a conference doubleheader to conference-leading Baruch, 13-4 (5 innings), the Bulldogs pulled out a 6-5 victory in Game 2 to end the evening on a high note. Brooklyn moves to 12-22 (4-4 CUNYAC) with the split while the Bearcats go to 18-20 (8-2 CUNYAC). Next Up: Brooklyn returns to their non-conference schedule for a twin bill at New Jersey City on Saturday at 1pm.

Trailing 2-0 through three innings, Brooklyn exploded offensively in the bottom of the fourth to take control of the game. The Bulldogs capitalized on timely hitting and patience at the plate, drawing multiple walks to set the stage for a decisive swing. With the bases loaded, Katelyn Young delivered the biggest hit of the game—a go-ahead grand slam to right field—giving Brooklyn a 6-2 advantage.
Baruch struck first in the opening inning, scoring twice on an RBI single and a Brooklyn error. The Bearcats chipped away later in the game, plating two runs in the fifth and adding another in the seventh, but Brooklyn's pitching and defense held firm to preserve the one-run victory.
Young led the Bulldogs offensively, finishing 3-for-4 with four RBI and the deciding homer. Julia Corcoran also had a strong performance at the plate, going 3-for-4, while Jazlyn Roberts added a hit and scored a run. Brooklyn totaled eight hits and drew nine walks for the game.
In the circle, Kureshma Dhanraj earned the win, tossing a complete game while allowing five runs (three earned) on four hits.
For Baruch, Mina Barriga and Ava Lavery each recorded hits, with Lavery driving in a run.
Brooklyn's defense worked out of several jams, stranding 11 Baruch runners and turning in key outs late to secure the win.

Baruch capitalized on early defensive miscues and a pair of big innings to take control, scoring two unearned runs in the first before erupting for six runs in the third and five more in the fourth. Brooklyn committed five errors in the game, leading to 10 unearned runs for the Bearcats.
Brooklyn showed signs of life in the third inning, plating three runs. Addy Cook delivered a two-run single, while an earlier wild pitch brought home the Bulldogs' first run of the game. The Bulldogs added another run in the fifth on an RBI groundout by Olivia Gonzalez.
Jessica Bowe took the loss, allowing 13 runs—only three earned—on 12 hits over five innings of work.
Leilani Jimenez earned the win in the circle, tossing a complete game while allowing four runs—just one earned—on four hits with three strikeouts. She also helped her own cause at the plate, going 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Baruch's offense was paced by Megan Bell, who went 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBI, while Melanie Robles added two hits and two RBI. Mina Barriga scored three runs and drove in one, highlighted by a fourth-inning double.
Brooklyn managed four hits in the contest, with Victoria Elderbaum leading the way with a 2-for-2 performance at the plate.
