Ronald Stanislaus Promoted to Head Coach of BC Men's Soccer

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Announced by Brooklyn College Director of Athletics, Erik Smiles, Ronald Stanislaus has been promoted to Head Coach of the BC Men's Soccer program. Stanislaus brings more than a decade of coaching experience at the collegiate, high school, and elite youth levels, along with a deep understanding of the Brooklyn College program and the New York City soccer landscape. Having most recently served as the lead assistant coach with the Bulldogs,  takes the helm after Nathan Bell's departure to Division I Long Island University.  

"In our discussions Ronald really showed his enthusiasm to continue the job of building our Men's Soccer program into a CUNYAC and regional power on the field while also making sure our student athletes excel off the field academically and graduate," Smiles commented. "He laid out a very detailed and organized plan to get our program where we want to be and to stay there consistently."

As an assistant coach with the Bulldogs last season in 2025, Stanislaus played an active role in match preparation, player evaluation, recruiting, and the overall competitive direction of the program.  He helped lead Brooklyn to their first CUNYAC Regular Season Championship since 1981 and a 10-6-1 overall record.  

"Coach Stanislaus was such a major part of our soccer team's CUNYAC regular season championship last year and has built great relationships with our current student-athletes and with the incoming recruits," Smiles would elaborate. 

In addition to his collegiate experience, Stanislaus currently serves as Head Coach with Brooklyn United Academy, where he leads competitive boys' teams competing in academy, national, and ECNL Regional League competition. He has earned a reputation for emphasizing technical development, tactical understanding, competitive mentality, and individual growth while creating positive environments that challenge players to reach their full potential.

"I'm grateful for the opportunity to lead the Brooklyn College men's soccer program," Stanislaus said on the appointment."There are good people here, and I believe there is a real opportunity to build something strong. My focus is on creating the right environment for our student-athletes, raising our daily standards, and moving the program forward with purpose."

His coaching résumé also includes positions at Trinity School in New York City and Riverview High School in Sarasota, Florida.  

A former co-captain at Herkimer Community College, Stanislaus understands the commitment and leadership required to compete at a championship level. His coaching philosophy emphasizes proactive attacking soccer, technical excellence, active defending, creativity, and a team-first mentality built on discipline and accountability.

Beyond coaching, Stanislaus has extensive experience coordinating team operations, recruiting, alumni engagement, community outreach, event planning, and program organization. 

"My focus is to create a competitive, honest, and hardworking environment where our players can grow on and off the field. We want to represent Brooklyn College the right way, compete every day, and keep pushing the program forward," Stanislaus would go on to say. 

Stanislaus earned a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Oakland City University after receiving an Associate of Applied Science in Physical Education from Herkimer County Community College. He is currently enrolled in the U.S. Soccer D License coaching course and continues to pursue professional development in modern player-centered coaching methodologies.
