Annandale-On-Hudson, NY----The Brooklyn College men's and women's cross country teams opened the 2026 meet season at the Fred Pavlich Invitational hosted by Bard College on Saturday. BC's men finished finished in ninth place as a team in a pool of 12 while the women were 11th out of 11 teams competing. Next Up: The Bulldogs continue their season at the Herb Lorenz Invitational hosted by the College of New Jersey on Friday, September 11.
COMPLETE RESULTS
On the men's side, sophomore Anthony King paced Brooklyn College with an 18:12.8 performance on the 5K course, finishing 44th overall. Senior Yasin Gordon was the Bulldogs' second finisher, crossing the line in 19:12.3 in 71st place.
Freshman Spencer Weiner followed in 19:41.1 for 81st place, while freshman Calvin Weiner clocked a 20:09.4 finish for 88th. Junior Dexter Weiner was close behind, posting a time of 20:12.3 to place 90th overall. Freshmen Jun Cheng and Erick Largo rounded out the Brooklyn finishers with times of 21:11.7 and 21:13.6, respectively.
The women's team was led by freshman Jacqueline Ortiz, who turned in Brooklyn College's top performance with a time of 27:54.6 on the 5K course and a 65th-place finish. Freshman Isabela Vargas finished 74th overall in 30:00.6, followed by freshman Rayhannah Alexander, who crossed the line in 34:14.4 for 78th place.
Sophomore Meliza Aguilar posted a time of 36:41.7, while freshmen Rebecca Peralta and Annabelle DeFortune completed the course in 41:57.0 and 42:55.2, respectively.
