Montclair, NJ----The Brooklyn College men's soccer team suffered their first loss of the season on Monday night, falling at Montclair State, 6-0, in non-conference play. Brooklyn moves to 0-1-2 with the loss while the Red Hawks improve to 2-1. Next Up: Brooklyn looks for their first win as they return home for another non-conference tilt against Sarah Lawrence on Wednesday at 6pm at Brooklyn College Field. Â
Montclair State took a 4-0 lead into halftime after goals from Tyler Diaz (2:39), Kevin Contreras (13:06), Tomas Monteiro (19:54), and an own goal (29:40). Max Perry added a goal 1:59 into the second half, while Gabe Rodriguez scored in the 79th minute on an assist from Jayden Wesley to complete the scoring.
Brooklyn was held without a shot in the contest. Montclair State recorded 34 shots, including 18 on goal, and earned 15 corner kicks.
Brooklyn goalkeeper Juan Carlos Solis Cazares made 12 saves in 90 minutes. Montclair State's three goalkeepers combined for a shutout.
