Lia Briffa

Hired in December 2019, Lia Briffa enters her first season as Head Coach of the Brooklyn College men's volleyball program.  Briffa brings a number of years of experience and success as an assistant coach at the college level to her first time at the helm of a program.

Coach Briffa arrives on the Bedford Avenue campus after four years as an assistant coach for the Queensborough Community College women’s volleyball program.  There, Briffa was part of four CUNYAC and Region XV Championship squads that would advance to the NJCAA Division III National Championship tournament every year she was on staff.  While Queensborough, she would coach four CUNYAC tournament MVPs and number of student-athletes that received scholarship offers from NCAA Division I schools.

A CUNYAC student-athlete herself, Briffa was a member of the volleyball and the track and field teams at Queensborough CC where she earned CUNYAC Scholar-Athlete honorable mention honors.  She would finish her collegiate career in both sports at NCAA Division II Queens College.

Building a career in sports, Coach Briffa has been a strength and conditioning coach at Asphalt Green since 2017.  In addition to her training responsibilities, she has served as the Head Coach of the 15-U volleyball team for the organization.
