Brittany Bowen

Brittany Bowen has been named to the Brooklyn College Women's Basketball staff entering the 2015-2016 season.  Bowen, a BC alum, and former First-Team CUNYAC performer, replaces long-time assistant Ahmad Odetalla, who stepped down after the 2014-2015 season. Bowen will assist in all facets of the program, specializing in player development with the team's guards.

"We are thrilled to have Brittany join our staff," said Head Coach Alex Lang.  "Brittany is a former player, who is very familiar with the coaching style of our staff as well as the brand of basketball that we aim to play. She is a natural leader and someone who is very knowledgeable.  She will be a real asset to our team, especially since we have a very young, eager group."

As a player, Bowen only spent one year with the Bulldogs, as she was a transfer from Division II powerhouse South Carolina Aiken.  She was a contributing player for three seasons on a team that totaled a 69-23 record over that period, while also making two NCAA Division II Tournament appearances.
During her senior season as a Bulldog, she started in all 31 games, averaging a team-leading 12.5 points per game, while helping Brooklyn to a program-record 24 wins, and apperances in both the CUNYAC and ECAC Metro Championship Games.

A proven winner, Bowen hopes bring the same qualities that helped her on the court, behind the scenes as a coach. Bowen earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Brooklyn.  She is an avid runner and Maryland native, who has remained living in Brooklyn since her graduation.
