Jamar Harry

Jamar Harry joined the women’s basketball staff in the fall of 2018.

Harry, a former basketball standout at John Jay, is a familiar face in the City University of New York Athletic Conference.  As a Bloodhound, Harry was named CUNYAC Rookie of the Year in 2011 and Player of the Year in 2013, and also garnered national recognition as a senior, being named a Third Team All-American by the NABC.  Harry scored 1,151 points in three seasons with John Jay, after transferring over from Monroe College.

While being recognized for his ability, Harry was always known as a player with a great basketball IQ.  “Jamar will be a great addition to our staff,” said head coach Alex Lang.  “He is someone who played all five positions on the court and can help our players with development and a different perspective with his experience in the men’s game”.   Harry will primarily work with the post players in addition to other responsibilities.

Harry earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from John Jay.  He currently resides in Sheepshead Bay with his wife Shirivia and son Ashton.
