Karla Ruiz is in her first season as an Assistant Coach with the Brooklyn College Women's Soccer program. Coach Ruiz joined the team during the Summer of 2022.
Coach Ruiz arrives at Brooklyn after having gained valuable coaching experience with the South Bronx United soccer club. There, she has served as an assistant with the girls' 14U squad for the past two years. Most recently she helped guide the squad to a league title in the Spring of 2022.
No stranger to playing soccer in the CUNYAC, Ruiz was a two-year member of the Lehman College Women's Soccer team from 2018-2019. Unfortunately, her college career was cut short in 2019 due to injury.
Prior to Lehman, Ruiz club soccer for Bronx United where she has since returned as a youth coach and mentor. She also now plays for the newly founded women's team for the club.
