Lauren Brazier

Lauren Brazier joined the Brooklyn College Office of Recreation, Intramurals and Intercollegiate Athletics as an assistant coach for the Women's Volleyball program in April of 2015, and after one season serving in that role, has been promoted to head coach.

Brazier comes to Brooklyn from the NYC Juniors, where she served as an assistant coach under former BC Head Coach Andy Mueller. With the NYC Juniors, Brazier assisted in the planning and implementation of all practices; recorded and analyzed individual and team statistics for all matches and provided guidance for players during college recruitment process.

Prior to the NYC Juniors, Brazier served as head coach at the Long Island Volleyball Academy, where she planned, directed, and supervised all practices, evaluated strengths and weaknesses of players to pinpoint areas of focus and employed leadership abilities to motivate players toward attaining the best possible results.

Brazier began her coaching career as a co-coach with the Atlantic Valley Volleyball Association, where she heled develop each athlete's skills in leadership, teamwork, communication, and discipline and coordinated with co-coach to establish team goals and provide the tools necessary to achieve them.

To go along with her coaching experience, Brazier brings a wealth of playing experience to the BC bench, as she was a decorated four-year member of the Fairleigh Dickinson University – College at Florham (2007-2010). While with the Devils, the Middle Hitter was named to the All-Freedom Conference First Team in each of her four campaigns. 

Brazier had a career-year in 2010 during her senior season, as the Stony Brook, NY native posted 391 kills and 192 total blocks (single season school record), while also racking up 546.5 points (single season school record) in helping to lead the Devils to a 33-8 overall record and an Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Metro Women's Volleyball Championship. Brazier would be named MVP of the ECAC Championships.

Over her four-year career at FDU-Florham, Brazier ranks first all-time in total blocks (602), points (1,854.5) and sets played (487). She also ranks second in school history in kills (1,283).

Brazier received her BA in Sociology from FDU-Florham in 2011.
