Lauren Caiaccia

Brooklyn College Women’s Volleyball is led by Head Coach Lauren Caiaccia, a proven program builder, championship coach, and educator whose career reflects a deep commitment to developing strong competitors, confident leaders, and successful students-athletes.

Coach Caiaccia took over the Bulldogs program after making an immediate impact as Interim Head Coach during the 2025 season. In just her first stretch at the helm, she helped turn momentum around, leading Brooklyn to a winning record over the final 13 matches and guiding the team to its first CUNYAC Championship match appearance since 2022. Under her leadership, multiple student-athletes earned All-CUNYAC recognition, an early sign of her ability to elevate both team performance and individual growth.

Widely respected across the CUNYAC, Coach Lauren Caiaccia brings decades of championship experience to Brooklyn College. She led Hunter College to four consecutive CUNYAC championships (1999-2002), earning multiple Coach of the Year honors, and made history as the first woman to guide a collegiate men’s volleyball program to 100 career wins. Caiaccia also led the Hunter men’s program to CUNYAC titles in 1999 and 2003 and was named NECVA Coach of the Year in 2003. Caiaccia later coached both the women’s and men’s volleyball programs at CCNY, continuing her tradition of developing competitive teams and conference award winners.

What truly sets Coach Caiaccia apart is her player-centered approach. As a former multi-sport student-athlete and two-time Hall of Fame inductee at Binghamton University, she understands what it takes to succeed at the collegiate level, on the court, in the classroom, and beyond. Her coaching philosophy emphasizes skill development, volleyball IQ, mental toughness, and leadership, while creating an environment where athletes are challenged, supported, and prepared for life after college.

In addition to her collegiate coaching success, Coach Caiaccia is an accomplished educator, administrator, and multi-sport coach. She has spent over two decades teaching and coaching in New York City, including 19 seasons as the girl’s varsity basketball head coach at her alma mater and eight years as the school’s Athletics Director. She holds advanced degrees and New York State certifications in educational leadership.

Coach Caiaccia understands long-term athlete development, values academic excellence, and is deeply committed to personal growth alongside competitive success.  At Brooklyn College, she is building a program rooted in hard work, pride, and opportunity, where student-athletes compete for championships, earn a world-class public education, and grow into leaders within one of the most dynamic cities in the world.
