Hired in October 2015, Tim Slakas, will serve as the department's assistant Sports Information Director, and primary contact for scheduling.
Slakas arrives at BC after six years as the Sports Information Director at ASA College in Brooklyn. There, he was responsible for all facets of sports information including implementing in-game statistics at all games and matches, social media management, serving as the main media contact, leading the construction, completion, and regular updates of the athletic department's first website, and live streaming for home games. While at ASA, teams and individual student-athletes had been featured in various media outlets locally and nationally.
Prior to his stint at ASA, Slakas wore a number of hats at the former NYU-Polytechnic. While at Poly, along with serving as the athletic department's Sports Information Director, Slakas performed compliance and intramural coordinator duties as well. Along with his administrative responsibilities, Slakas was an assistant coach for the men's basketball team during the 2007-08 and 2008-09 seasons.
Following his graduation from Nazareth College in Rochester, NY, Slakas would serve as a graduate assistant at NCAA Division II Dowling College. During the 2005-06 sports' seasons, Slakas was as an assistant to the Assistant Athletic Director of Business Affairs handling all team travel, assisting with department purchases, and reconciling all expenses with the school's business and accounting departments. In his second year at the Long Island school, he would get his first taste of college coaching, serving as the graduate assistant for the men's basketball team.
