Ka Ho Yeung Named November Brooklyn College Male Student-Athlete of the Month
Junior Ka Ho Yeung, a three-year member of the Brooklyn College Men’s Swimming & Diving team, has shown strong veteran leadership early on through the early season earning his co-captainship.
Beginning with the Sarah Lawrence College Sprint Carnival on November 2nd, which BC finished in third place (out of three teams), Yeung had a strong showing in his individual event. Coming in the 200-Yard Freestyle, Yeung posted a second place finish with a time of 2:25.15. He also competed in the 200-Yard Freestyle Relay (second swimmer in relay) that finished in fifth place with a time of 1:55.18.
On November 16th in a tri-meet against host Sarah Lawrence College (L, 106-93) and Mount Saint Mary College (NY) (L, 136-64), Yeung swam in the two long distance events, coming in third in the 1,650-Yard Freestyle (23:32.27) and fourth in the 500-Yard Freestyle (6:32.84). He also competed in the 400-Yard Freestyle Relay as the fourth swimmer, as the relay team finished in 4:41.16, good for fourth place.
In BC’s City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) opener against the College of Staten Island on November 19th, a 158-71 loss, Yeung finished second in the 500-Yard Freestyle (6:32.63) and fourth in the 1,000-Yard Freestyle (13:41.15).
Finishing out the month on November 22nd in Brooklyn’s home opener against conference rival York College, Yeung had his best performance with a pair of first place finishes and a second place showing to help guide the Bulldogs to a 101-82 win. Yeung was the first to touch the wall in both the 1,000-Yard Freestyle (13:25.57) and the 500-Yard Freestyle (6:30.23). He came in second in the 100-Yard Backstroke (1:35.39).
For his efforts during the month of November, Ka Ho Yeung has been named the BC Male Student-Athlete of the Month.
