David Dimitruk Named January Brooklyn College Male Student-Athlete of the Month
Junior tri-captain outside hitter David Dimitruk, a City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) All-Star in 2013, had a solid start to the 2014 season in helping to lead the Brooklyn College Men’s Volleyball team to a 2-3 record to start off the year.
Dimitruk played in all five matches (16 sets) in January for the Bulldogs, totaling 36 kills (2.25 K/set) and 28 digs (1.75 D/set). He also added five service aces, five total blocks and three assists in the month. Dimitruk ranked second on the team in kills, aces and blocks, while ranking third on the team in digs and assists in the month.
The Philadelphia native had his best match of the month against Purchase College on January 28th, recording a double-double with 12 kills (.391 hitting percentage) and 11 digs.
Dimitruk finished with nine kills and seven digs in a win over City College of New York on January 26th at the Ramapo College Roadrunner Invitational.
For his efforts, junior David Dimitruk has been named the Brooklyn College Male Student-Athlete of the Month, for the month of January.
