Kayla Hill Named Brooklyn College Female Student-Athlete of the Month for March
Junior Kayla Hill, the reigning City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) Player of the Year, has once again led the BC Softball team with both her bat and her arm.
Playing in all 12 games in the month of March, which saw the Bulldogs post a 7-5 overall record, including 2-0 in the CUNYAC, Hill batted .385 (15-for-39) with 10 RBI and 11 runs scored. She also posted a .419 on base percentage and a .538 slugging percentage.
To go along with her bat, Hill also contributed with her arm, tossing 25 innings in the month, while striking out 15 hitters en route to an even 2-2 record and a 4.20 ERA.
The James Madison High School graduate was also named the CUNYAC Player of the Week, for the week ending March 30th for her performances against Rutgers-Newark, College of St. Elizabeth and Baruch College.
In those six games, Hill batted .400 (8-for-20), while recording a hit in five of six games, to go along with seven RBI and four runs scored over the six games. She also registered a .381 on base percentage and a .600 slugging percentage. Hill had her best performance against Baruch, combining to go 4-for-6 with five RBI and two runs scored in the doubleheader sweep. Hill also used her arm to add to her impressive week. In the circle, the Brooklyn native totaled 14 innings of work, allowing just four runs on 11 hits, while walking three and striking out 12 batters. She posted a 2.00 ERA going 2-0 on the week.
For her efforts during the month of March, Kayla Hill has been named the Brooklyn College Female Student-Athlete of the Month, for the month of March.
