Allison Donovan Named Brooklyn College Student Athlete of the Month, May
Senior Allison Donovan capped off a stellar four-year career on the diamond for the Brooklyn College Softball team by batting .455 (5-for-11) with an RBI and a run scored, to go along with a .417 on base percentage and a .545 slugging percentage in the month of May.
Donovan started in all four games in the month for the Bulldogs, as Brooklyn played three games in the 2014 City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) Championships and one game in the 2014 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Metro Championships.
With the Bulldogs facing elimination on day one of the CUNYAC Championships on May 2nd, Donovan went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with an RBI and run scored to help BC defeat John Jay College of Criminal Justice and advance to day two of the double elimination round of the championships for a third straight season.
Over her four-year career, Donovan, a CUNYAC Rookie of the Year (2011) recipient and two-time CUNYAC Second Team All-Star (2012 and 2014), started in all 148 games played at short stop, while batting .333 (140-for-420) to go along with 82 RBI and 88 runs scored.
Donovan, also a four-year member of the BC Women’s Basketball team, has maintained a solid 3.12 GPA as a Health & Nutrition major.
