Brooklyn College Athletics

The Brooklyn College Women’s Basketball Team has enjoyed tremendous success this season as established veterans and talented newcomers have combined to form one of the most formidable teams in the CUNYAC. The stellar play of sophomore guard Amber Gordon has been a major reason for that success, particularly in the month of January. Scoring at least nine points in nine straight games, the Bishop Loughlin High School product has averaged 11.3 points per game during the month. She is also second on the squad in assists, dishing out 2.2 helpers per contest. Gordon scored a season-high 21 points and collected four steals in the Bridges’ 58-55 victory at John Jay on January 14^th. Her head coach, Alex Lang, has been impressed with Gordon’s recent performance, saying “Amber has stepped up her game during the month of January, returning to the form she exhibited early in her freshman year. She is one of the best finishers in the conference and has the ability to one day become a CUNYAC all-star.”
