After posting a program-best 9-4 mark in the CUNYAC, and 19 wins overall, the Brooklyn College Women’s Basketball Team has secured a spot in the upcoming ECAC Metropolitan Championship Tournament. Leading the team into the postseason is junior forward Priscilla Ramirez. In seven February games, two in the CUNYAC / Con Edison Women’s Basketball Tournament, Ramirez averaged a team-high 15.9 points and 7.6 rebounds per game. Against Medgar Evers College, the 5-9 Physical Education major poured in 24 points and collected 11 caroms for the first of her three February double-doubles.
A gritty defender, Ramirez pilfered 36 steals in seven February games – 10 in the Bridges’ CUNYAC Quarterfinal win over York College. She also dished out 41 assists during the month – 10 in the semifinal loss to Baruch. Her prowess was complimented by Head Coach Alex Lang, who said that “Priscilla stepped up her game when the team needed it most. She showed her versatility as a defender and as a passer. Her performance was huge in our performance down the stretch.”
