Richard Jean-Baptiste has been one of the most successful basketball players in the Metropolitan area over the past two seasons and there is no reason to think this year will change that status.  The senior forward is averaging 15.5 points per game during the team’s four games during the month of November and is shooting an outstanding 44% from three-point range, helping to lead the team in hopes of repeating their CUNYAC Championship run of a year ago.  After only scoring 8 in the team’s blowout win over Mitchell, 110-64, Jean-Bapstiste notched double-digits in the scoring column for the next three games, including a 21 point, 8 rebound performance over NYU-Poly in a battle for Brooklyn supremacy.  In the Mitchell game, he did register team-highs with 6 steals and 3 blocked shots.  Jean-Baptiste also notched 19 points and 4 assists against an undefeated Elms team during the road defeat.

“Richard shows his talent every time that he steps on the floor,” said men’s basketball coach Steve Podias.  “He is primed to have another big season while leading our team.”

A physical education major, Jean-Baptiste is looking to teach when he is done with his schooling at Brooklyn.  The two-time All-American has also taken on added responsibility this season as one of three senior captains on the team.
