Amber Gordon has very quietly been one of the rising stars in the City University of New York Athletic Conference.  After having a strong start to her freshman season, Gordon was hampered by an ankle injury and didn't return to her true form until late in her sophomore season, when she helped the team to a 19-win season and was named to the CUNYAC All-Tournament team after a 26-point effort against Baruch in the Semifinal Round. 

This season, Gordon has not missed a beat, and her month of December has shown that she may be among the league's elite.  While leading her team to a 5-0 record on the month, Gordon was probably the team's most consistent player during December.  Gordon averaged 13.2 points per contest over those 5 games, shooting a remarkable 60 percent from the field, an amazing mark for a perimeter player.  Gordon also converted on 8 consecutive free throw attempts to close the month.

"Amber is a big reason that we have won 5 straight," said Head Coach Alex Lang.  "She is sort of a well-kept secret to our opponents but she is having a big season so far and I don't think that she is going to sneak up on teams in the future."

Gordon is a junior, majoring in Physical Education.  She has been one of the team's leaders as she is one of the longest tenured players on the squad.
