The Brooklyn College Men’s Tennis team has earned the seventh seed in the CUNYAC Championships, thanks in large part to the late season success of Anthony Sideris. The freshman had an outstanding final month of the regular season, going 3-0 in singles matches while playing a combination No. 4 and No. 5 singles. He followed that up with a 4-3 doubles effort, playing everywhere from No. 1 to No. 3 doubles. For the month, Sideris went 7-3.
The highlight of the month for Sideris was getting the opportunity to play No. 1 doubles twice. On April 2nd, Sideris and Anthony Chan defeated City Tech’s No. 1 duo 8-3 and, on April 17th, the tandem teamed up again to defeat the No. 1 doubles team from Sarah Lawrence College by a score of 8-5.
“His hustle and play throughout the month has him righteously earning this honor,” says head coach Johnny Tang of his freshman.
Sideris is also a member of the Brooklyn College men’s soccer team and the men’s volleyball team.
