Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College Women's Basketball Team (5-8) fell to Pine Manor (2-6) on Monday night by a final score of 68-57.
The Bridges jumped out to an early 6-0 lead as sophomore Christina McDonnell (Staten Island Tech / Staten Island, NY) hit back to back three-pointers.  Jumpers by junior Amalea Sideris (St. Demetrios / Astoria, NY) and Joelle Laurenceau (Midwood / Brooklyn, NY) gave BC a 10-4 edge that quickly evaporated.  Four Gators scored during a 12-0 rally over the next four minutes.  McDonnell responded by nailing consecutive jumpers to pull Brooklyn within two points at 16-14 midway through the opening stanza.  Pine Manor then went on a 19-2 run highlighted by six points each from Enjolee Phillips (Weaver / Hartford, CT) and Laura Cecil (Aurora / Solon, OH) to take a commanding 35-16 lead.
The Gators came out biting in the second half, scoring seven of the first nine points to increase the edge to 23 points, 47-24.  The Bridges were not done yet, as a pair of free throws and another trifecta from McDonnell punctuated a 13-1 run that closed the gap to 11 points. BC would get no closer for the remainder of the game.  Pine Manor was 9for 11 from the charity stripe over the final three minutes to help seal the victory.
McDonnell led Brooklyn, scoring 23 points and grabbing 11 boards in the loss. Jaclyn Cavalcante (James Madison / Brooklyn, NY) and Ashley Allen (William C. Bryant / Sunnyside, NY) had almost identical stat lines, each contributing nine points and four assists.
Pine Manor was led by Cecil's triple-double of 17 points, 14 rebounds, and 11 assists.  Amanda Dennis (Whittier Tech / Haverhill, MA) added 21 points and pulled down 11 rebounds for the victors.
