Softball Can't Hold On To Early Lead Over New Rochelle

The Brooklyn Softball Team (1-11) dropped a pair of games on Monday to non-conference opponent New Rochelle, 6-3 and 7-3 in the night cap.  

Danielle Maresca (James Madison / Brooklyn, NY) led the way for Brooklyn on the day as she went a combined 4 for 7 in the two games.

(Bishop Ford / Brooklyn, NY) also notched a couple of hits on the afternoon and Jenna Ferrara (James Madison / Brooklyn, NY) had an RBI double in the first inning of game one. 

Brooklyn had a 3-1 lead going into the bottom of the fifth inning as New Rochelle scored 5 to take the lead, 6-3,  after 5 innings played.  Brooklyn was held scoreless over the final two innings, giving New Rochelle the three-run victory.

In game 2, Brooklyn again took an early lead as they took a 2-0 advantage into the bottom half of the first inning.  New Rochelle scored five runs in the last three innings to earn the 7-3 win.

Up next for Brooklyn is a pair of games with conference rival York College on Wednesday April 1st at Floyd Bennett Field.
