Staten Island, NY---The Brooklyn College Softball Team (3-15, 2-8 CUNYAC) dropped an afternoon doubleheader to the College of Staten Island (13-9, 4-2 CUNYAC) by scores of 8-0 & 10-3.

In game 1, Staten Island starting pitcher Danielle Posiglione (St. Joseph by the Sea / Staten Island, NY) was dominant as she allowed only 1 hit while striking out six BC batters. 

Game 2 saw more offense as Brooklyn got on the board in the second inning as sophomore Ashley Allen (William C. Bryant / Sunnyside, NY) hit a run-scoring triple. 

Then in the third inning, with the bases loaded Jenna Ferrara (James Madison / Brooklyn, NY) lined a single to drive home a run and then Allen walked home a run.  Unfortunately, that would conclude the day's scoring as CSI swept the conference doubleheader.

The Dolphins got a huge contribution from their cleanup hitter Katie Flynn (Tottenville / Staten Island, NY) who accumulated 6 hits and 4 RBI on the day.

Brooklyn will return home on Wednesday as they host Purchase College at 3:00 pm in a non-league doubleheader.
